BC Civil Liberties Association to present award
November 20, 2008

Mike Tammen was honoured by the BC Civil Liberties Association for his outstanding work at the Frank Paul Inquiry, a provincial inquiry into the death of Frank Paul, a 47-year-old Mi'kmaq man who was left by Vancouver police in a downtown eastside alley where he died of exposure.

Mike was also recognized for his pro bono work on the case Criminal Justice Branch of the Ministry of the Attorney General v. William H. Davies, Commissioner, which resulted in a decision by the BC Supreme Court that held that Criminal Justice Branch must provide evidence in the Frank Paul inquiry concerning prosecutors' decisions not to lay charges in connection with the death of Frank Paul.

Kieran Bridge was honoured for his successful pro bono work on behalf of a citizen involved in a police incident.

The event was held on Nov. 20, 2008 at 7pm  in the Law Courts Inn. Further details can be found on the BC Civil Liberties website.
